  1. I am a MEP Engineer. I only speak English. I don't know Korean even a little. Do you have an engineering job for people who can only speak English? I am OK with night shift because it is normal in my country.

  2. Well I have been living in SK for over 10 years and I have been having nothing but wonderful experience. Of course SK is not a perfect place and I had some bad ones but overall my experience was more than satisfactory, I love the culture, food, met many kind and good people. I know life here can be stressful but I think people should focus on positive side of life and don't take things too personally, learn the language and don't be afraid to mingle with locals. Remember it's not the about the location you stay, your happiness depends on how much you enjoy your job you have and what kind of person you are as characterwise.

  3. You my friend is spot on with all your comments. Korea is the best place to live if you're a wealthy foreigner but a nightmare if you're a Korean. People who travel to Korea for vacation has no clue how difficult it is for Koreans.

  4. Actually, a lot of things you mentioned in general are more or less the same in a lot of the countries overall. I think it all depends on the individual whether one country works for them better than others, just like one man's trash is another man's treasure. Do as the Romans do, you have to understand the culture and learn to fit in wherever you go. I've met both the best and worst people everywhere I traveled and lived, including US. Comparably, I think Korea is a pretty good place to live from my experience.

  5. Your video is just a consequence with the failed politics of Moon Jae In. The country will get much worse when Lee Jae Myung takes power "Moon 2.0"

The PPP is just the opposite face of the same corrupt coin.

  6. It is so sad that a simple conversation can be seen as suspicious. Because I live in the USA and a good morning how are you or even in the store just talking about something in the store. Should be something normal for human being.not suspicious. It is sad to be so closed off.

  7. I’ve asked many Korean American friends about living there. I’ve been in Korea for 10 days. They all say America is much more fun, which surprises the hell out of me, but now I get it.

  8. I think Korea is for people who can navigate a no-chill culture with pecking order filial hierarchy structure. It is stressing to Koreans too.

  9. You have very poor way of communicating your grievance. Is Korea a good place to live? Yes and No. It depends who you are, what you are looking for, and what you have to offer. If you just list all of things that "might be" bad, there's no place for you on earth, including America where I live. A lot of things you said has some truth in it but it is by far not accurate nor fair. Do not try to rank countries based on your limited experiences nor be confident that just because you are Korean (I'm assuming) that you have expertise & authority to give this kind of one sided negative review. Korea has a lot of great quality over Japan, U.S., China and many countries in EU that I have been to (safety, general hygiene, hospital system, friendliness toward foreigners, food). U.S. is out right dangerous & expensive. EU is over priced & dirty, Japan is skin deep in friendliness, … you can go on forever if you just want to list negative things. But at the same time, each countries & regions offer advantages and strong benefits. It is what it is. Be fair and insightful.

  10. These points were very well spoken and articulated. I would be curious to know your thoughts on Vietnam and Thailand social/work culture as well!

  11. Japan and South Korea love their demographic collapse. They're not in any hurry to keep their nation from getting absolutely wrecked.
And as someone who loves many things about both those nations, it's frustrating as all hell.
Pride, stubbornness and fear will be their downfall.

  12. Not a flattering commentary on Korea, but honest and appreciated. I never plan on living there for a variety of reasons and this video has solidified that decision.

  13. Your videos are incredible to watch, and I don’t say this lightly. Having followed you through Thailand, Vietnam, and now Korea, I find your analysis and commentary insightful, comprehensive, and refreshingly direct. You have an incredible talent for sizing up a society quickly and putting it into words.

  14. Hold up, I'm a bit confused—you said you haven’t personally experienced skin color discrimination? I kinda assumed you were Korean or at least of Korean descent, so I wouldn’t have expected you to go through that. From what I’ve heard, non-Korean East Asians usually don’t face that kind of discrimination in South Korea.

  15. This was very interesting – thanks for sharing!

I think that most people get their ideas about living in South Korea – and interest/desire to do so – from watching K-dramas, K-pop and Korean films, all of which have become extremely popular worldwide in the past decade or so.

Personally, while I would like to visit South Korea as a tourist and explore the food options, I have no desire to live there – primarily because of its rather unstable & unpredictable neighbor to the north.
